Grand luxury

The Sofitel Grand Sopot Hotel is the quintessence of unique style and seaside elegance. Located by the wide beach on the Gdańsk Bay shore, it has been delighting its guests since 1927. The hotel with an unusual history was built for the visitors of the nearby casino for an enormous amount of money – 20 million Danzig gulden, by that time a currency of the Free City of Gdańsk. Already then it was a synonym of luxury and sophistication.

This eye-catching building is an example of modern resort architecture and it has remained unchanged since its construction. The hotel was a host of outstanding balls with orchestra, afternoon tea parties, and classic “fives” – dance parties that started at 5 o’clock. In the 70s, the first Polish party with disco glowing strobe lights took place in this unusual hotel.

Sopot has officially been a mecca for artists since the 60s. The hotel was regularly visited by reputable Polish artists – musicians and writers, among others Czeslaw Milosz and Slawomir Mrozek, who used to create their pieces of work in a cozy spot of the hotel getting inspired by the magnificent seaside view. The Sofitel Grand Sopot Hotel also hosted the crowned heads, statesmen, as well as world stage and movie stars such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Annie Lennox, Josephine Baker, Sting, Shakira, and Prince.

A silent witness of history, an architectural icon, and a synonym of luxury… Today the hotel offers 127 rooms with sea- or park view and guarantees an extraordinary experience and comfort of stay. The indoor swimming pool, gym and five conference and banquet rooms as well as the Ballroom create perfect conditions for organizing an unforgettable event. Additionally, the Art Deco hotel restaurant was chosen to the sixth edition of the Polish version of the restaurant guide Gault & Millau 2020. At the hotel bar called Le Bar one can try the best cocktails in town and on weekends enjoy the evenings with live music.

For years the Grand Hotel has been representing a coherent combination of French style and respect for the local traditions which has been attracting hundreds of demanding guests, eager for world class service and unforgettable, exceptional moments.
