Golf attracts gentlemen

The aristocratic sport of golf tempts experienced players and enthusiasts of outdoor activities to visit the Pomeranian region. Juicy green grass on courses in the springtime improves concentration and encourages conversation and strategic decisions. Spring covers golf courses in amazing greenery that together with modern facilities attract enthusiasts of sophisticated outdoor entertainment. Calm, vast fields, an atmosphere of intelligent competition, and slowly passing time creates an excellent opportunity to finalize a deal, plan a strategy or simply calm your mind and stop racing thoughts. In the Pomeranian region one finds many prestigious places dedicated to this entertainment originated in Scotland and England.

Sierra Golf Resort in Pętkowice (near Wejherowo) is a paradise for golf lovers and at the same time it’s one of the closest to Tricity. The diversity of the landscape and the degree of difficulty ensure undisturbed training within the 300-meter driving range with 26 roofed positions as well as putting and chipping area. The scenery looks like from a fairy tale as Sierra is like a park constructed with more than 11,000 carefully selected trees, ornamental bushes and flowers. The facility is located in the charming surroundings of the Tricity Landscape Park. The uniqueness of this place is emphasized by stylish gazebos, benches and picturesque footbridges. It is also conveniently communicated as it is located close to Gdańsk airport, the A1 highway, and Ferry Terminal in Gdynia. For beginners Sierra offers Sierra Academy lessons with 9 training holes and driving range (26 roofed positions protected from rain), putting, chipping and pitching green. Sierra Golf Club is also a great place to arrange parties, events, or business meetings.

Not more than 15 km from the Gdańsk Airport is Tokary Golf Club. It is located in a charming area often referred to as Kashubian Switzerland. Its extraordinary hilly landscape with dense forests makes it not only close to nature but also a more challenging golf course that attracts demanding and experienced players.

The Club has also a rare par-6 measuring 540 metres, the only one in Poland. On the area of 65 hectares one can find an 18-hole golf course, driving range, chipping green, putting green and a 3-hole golf academy. In the club house one finds a Pro Shop, golf simulators – two Full Swing and one Foresight, locker room and a lounge area.

About 30 km south of Gdańsk there is a remarkable course – Postołowo Golf Club. It was designed by Jeremy Turner, a talented and experienced Swedish architect who has created nearly fifty golf courses in his career. In Postołowo golf enthusiasts can enjoy the game at an 18-hole championship class course marvelously spread on approximately 100 hectares.

Sunny days in the springtime inspire to travel and it is worth going from the Pomeranian region towards Masuria (Mazury) to Pasłęk where the beautiful Sand Valley Golf Resort is located. This championship golf course is spread on 80 hectares of the picturesque Polish landscape. Importantly, it has been awarded by Golf World ranking as one of the TOP 100 golf resorts in Europe which proves its quality. The resort in Pasłęk offers an 18-hole championship course (par-72), 6-hole academy course (par-3), roofed driving range and great putting green training area. The course was designed by the Tilander-Ristola duet that made it look a bit “linksy” with wide fairways, vast waste bunkers and demanding greens. Those “bitten by the golf bug” point to its similarities with chess and other equally sophisticated forms of spending time. This is undoubtedly one of the unpretentious spaces of your own discoveries, to which Pomerania gladly invites its guests.
