Barbara and Bartosz Idczak, the owners of the settlement, run workshops related to the subject of growing, use, and processing of lavender but also regarding traditional methods of producing food and other products. In Lawendowa Osada, families with children will completely relax as there are some attractions to choose from on site. A log building of Dzika Chata in Nowy Barkoczyn (just 52 km from Gdansk airport) attracts with a cozy wooden facade and a terrace overlooking the garden. Up to eight visitors can spend an unforgettable time here – a family with children or a group of friends. Perfectly located, Dzika Chata has a private beach area by a nearby Kashubian lake that encourages the guests with clean, natural bathing and fishing spots. The property has a playground, a large, lovely garden with a gazebo, a tent site as well as a place for a campfire and a grill with barbeque facilities, all available for the guests. Surroundings of wild forests and picturesque cycling routes encourage everyone to hike and set out on adventures in the warm season, while in the winter one can try an unforgettable sleigh ride.
The Stara Baśń settlement invites primarily artistic souls. The landlady, who is also an artist, Urszula Zimorska has her own studio and gallery there. At various times of the year, she organizes individual- and group painting and sculpture workshops and open air meetings. A great attraction for guests is an opportunity to participate in baking bread, frying pancakes with uncommon, carefully selected adds, or making pierogi (Polish dumplings) together. Additionally, those interested in the techniques of furniture restoration and decoration, glass painting, and creating ceramics will learn a lot in the settlement. In the herbal garden one gets creatively inspired and finds out how to recognize herbs and use them in the kitchen.
