Interest in agritourism is growing as humans are tired of large, congested cities, billboards, and constant rush. Pomerania is a region with plenty of nature attractions for those seeking peace, silence, and comfort; not surprisingly, it is currently the third most popular agritourism destination in Poland. Agritourism brings not only rest but also knowledge – in Kashubian villages one has a chance to milk a cow, learn how to bake homemade bread, shoe a horse, or hear the secrets of the unique Kashubian embroidery. There are countless opportunities to participate in farm work and folk rituals – the villagers still preserve and cultivate local traditions and treat them with due respect.

Clean air, picturesque views

A stay at an agritourism farm incredibly improves health – the climate and clean air of Kashubia let one take a deep breath and totally enjoy the regional goods – delicious local products that are the base of carefully prepared meals. The products are always fresh and organically grown – they come either from the hosts themselves, friendly farms in the neighborhood, or are generously given by nature.

In Zagroda Sledziowa (The Herring Farm) near Ustka, one can try herring in any form and combination that, likewise the local vegetables and fruits, impresses guests with a great taste. As Pomeranian agritourism is organized by extraordinary people with passion, farm offers often refer to culture and tradition, an attractive location, and an interesting history of these areas.

At the Iskra stables in Sztumskie Pole one can easily get addicted to horse riding, both during a ride around the area and classes in the stable. The owners made it a great fun to get to know the basics of horse adventures. Smołdzino, due to its unusual landscape, is also a beloved place of painters and those with artistic, creative souls. It is known for a guest house named “u Bernackich” that is a host of outdoor workshops including painting, sculpture, and photography. Just nearby is the Słowiński National Park – one of the largest in Poland, which attracts with unlimited access to a fabulous panorama.

Luxurious and homely

Pomorskie is like a treasure chest filled with various agritourism offers. Even the most demanding tourists will find something attractive for themselves.

Kashubian Lodge & Spa will definitely interest those who love both elegance and a natural landscape. This exclusive, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing place is perfect for complete relaxation and rest. Located in Kashubia, although luxurious, it calms and silences the mind and surprises with closeness and homely atmosphere. The magnificent nature gives private concerts – cranes during the day and crickets in the evenings. The western side of the building adjoins the shores of the ribbon lake, while the northern side – a beech forest. There is a wonderful garden alongside the hotel, which is a supplier of vegetables used in the local cuisine.

In nearby Przywidz is Lawendowa Osada (The Lavender Settlement) that uniquely combines what is most valuable in the Kashubian style with the same aura as in sunny Provence. One will be delighted and astounded with the largest lavender fields in Poland and with the facility itself, the award-winner for the best Kashubian agritourism farm. Barbara and Bartosz Idczak, the owners of the settlement, run workshops related to the subject of growing, use, and processing of lavender but also regarding traditional methods of producing food and other products. There are three charming half-timbered houses, a typical example of Kashubian architecture, awaiting for arriving guests. In Lawendowa Osada, families with children will completely relax as there are some attractions to choose from on site. There is for example a salt cave with a professional salt aerosol generator, a wooden Russian banya – steam bath with a wood-burning stove, Cold Tub and Hot Tub – a wooden tub for hot baths with hydromassage and chromotherapy.

Artistically and with a positive atmosphere

A log building of Dzika Chata in Nowy Barkoczyn (just 52 km from Gdansk airport) attracts with a cozy wooden facade and a terrace overlooking the garden. Up to eight visitors can spend an unforgettable time here – a family with children or a group of friends. Perfectly located, Dzika Chata has a private beach area by a nearby Kashubian lake that encourages the guests with clean, natural bathing and fishing spots. The property has a playground, a large, lovely garden with a gazebo, a tent site as well as a place for a campfire and a grill with barbeque facilities, all available for the guests. Surroundings of wild forests and picturesque cycling routes encourage everyone to hike and set out on adventures in the warm season, while in the winter one can try an unforgettable sleigh ride.

The Stara Baśń settlement invites primarily artistic souls. The landlady, who is also an artist, Urszula Zimorska has her own studio and gallery there. At various times of the year, she organizes individual- and group painting and sculpture workshops and open air meetings. A great attraction for guests is an opportunity to participate in baking bread, frying pancakes with uncommon, carefully selected adds, or making pierogi (Polish dumplings) together. Additionally, those interested in the techniques of furniture restoration and decoration, glass painting, and creating ceramics will learn a lot in the settlement. In the herbal garden one gets creatively inspired and finds out how to recognize herbs and use them in the kitchen.

Pomeranian villages delight at any time of the year – they captivate with silence, the beauty of nature, and an unforgettable, hospitable atmosphere.
